One step closer – Lithuanian Airports have signed an agreement with runway reconstruction contractors

Vilnius Airport runway reconstruction that will take place this summer is inevitably coming and we are carefully preparing for it! We signed an agreement with runway reconstruction contractors – the consortium of the companies led by the Latvian company A.C.B.

By signing this agreement we are taking the next phase of the project. At the beginning of March, preparatory works will start at Vilnius Airport. These works will prepare airport area for the main reconstruction that will take place from July 14.

After 35 days, on August 18 passengers will meet Vilnius airport with the runway, reconstructed from the essence. With regular runway maintenance, we will be able to ensure flights safety for the next 20 years!

The runway reconstruction contractor, a Latvian company A.C.B., has significant experience in reconstructing airports in Latvia. The company has been doing reconstruction works for Riga Airport for 20 years already. Moreover, A.C.B. also carried out works at NATO airport in Lielvarde.

New routes
RusLine: flights to Saint Petersburg

Since the end of this spring, passengers will be able to reach Saint Petersburg, a Russian capital of culture, directly. From Vilnius, RusLine flights to Saint Petersburg will be launched on May 22, from Palanga – June 10.

Ryanair: from Vilnius to Nuremberg and Cologne

Ryanair announced new flights from Vilnius. From the end of October it will be possible to reach two German cities, Cologne and Nuremberg, two times per week from the main country`s air gateway.

What`s new at the airports?
Vilnius: an internal airport map now available online

Even more information is available about Vilnius Airport – from now on its internal map may be seen via the web mapping service offered by Google. Such decision has been made in order to improve passenger experience and allow them to get familiar with Vilnius airport before a trip.

Palanga: Medicinos bankas opened its subdivision in the airport

In Palanga Airport, passengers will now have a possibility to use the services of Medicinos bankas. Currency exchange service will receive the most attention in this subdivision.

Ryanair: 10 mln customers in Lithuania so far
