In view of the continuously growing number of passengers Palanga Airport arranged 86 additional places in the short-term car park. The new parking places are expected not only to provide more convenience for the travellers, but also to reduce traffic jams in peak hours.

The Director of Palanga Airport Marius Gelžinis claims that the new 86 parking places from now on are available in the short-term P2 car park just outside the passenger terminal. This car park was earlier used for long-term parking only.

“The changes were put in place when this January 134 new long-term parking places were offered to airport passengers and guests, thus we decided to move the short-term parking service to the P2 car park. From now on the vehicles arriving to the airport for just a short visit can be parked both in this and the P1 car park in front of P1 passenger terminal,” notes Marius Gelžinis and adds that currently there are total 152 short-term parking places at Palanga Airport.

There vehicles are allowed free parking for 10 min. Beyond the free parking time, half an hour parking will cost EUR 1.00 and EUR 2.00 for one hour.

According to Marius Gelžinis, passengers usually reach Palanga Airport not by public transportation, but are brought by car by their family members, often causing congestions at the parks in peak hours. The arranged additional short-term parking places are expected to effectively deal with the issue.

Another 246 long-term places are open at the P3 car park.
