A record – Lithuanian Airports handled 4.2 million passengers and 50 thousand flights per year!

Lithuanian Airports closed the year 2015 with a record – the number of passenger handled during the year increased by 11% and reached 4.2 million. This means that Vilnius, Kaunas and Palanga airports handled more people that the total population of Lithuania! Over 50 thousand flights were performed to satisfy their needs, and this year the choice of flights will be even greater.

We start the year 2016 with breaking news – your favourite airlines announced the expansion of operation in Lithuania! The first plane of the company Wizz Air is to rise to the sky as soon as late March, flying to London Luton airport, while several more airlines will settle for the warm season in Palanga: the airline company Belavia offering flights to Minsk, and Ryanair offering a convenient connection with London Stansted airport. We believe this is not our last good news – wait for more and plan your trips from Lithuanian airports!

A stir at Palanga airport

This summer Palanga airport will house as many as 8 different carriers, i.e. twice the number of operators that were offering flights from Palanga last year. The already announced destinations (London Luton airport and Warsaw) will be supplemented by Minsk with Belavia flights on Sundays and London Stansted airport with Ryanair. An interesting summer awaits! Find out more.

Kaunas increases its choice of carriers

This year the company Wizz Air will be operating from all three Lithuanian airports – while handling most of its passengers in Vilnius and upon announcing the start of operation in Palanga, the company also enters Kaunas airport! Its pink-coloured aircrafts are to depart for London Luton airport five times a week. Find out more.

Lithuanian Airports’ statistics

Last year, we were breaking one record after another – the monthly results of passenger flow were exceeded in Vilnius and Palanga, while at the end of the year the capital’s airport crossed the threshold of three million passengers. We can be confidently proud of our statistics – the number of passengers increased by 11% and flights – by almost 6% over the period of 12 months. Good work! We will keep it up! Find out more.

Airports open to the public

Celebrating the International Civil Aviation Day, we continued a tradition to open our doors to people of different social groups and invited elderly people from various care homes to take a tour in Vilnius, Kaunas and Palanga airports. We invite you to explore Vilnius airport at least virtually and take a walk with the participants of our tours!

Greetings to family and friends straight from the airport

We encouraged the passengers travelling during the holiday season to share their cosy moments with their loved ones living all over the world and invited them to send holiday greetings written on a special postcard. Find out more.

At the end of December we celebrated the Client’s Day – which already became a tradition. That day from 4 a.m. to 4 p.m. all airport employees turned their attention to passengers and offered special promotions to surprise them. Find out more!
